HNC Welcomes New Medical Director
Dr. Charles Hergesheimer

Carlsbad, CA … Charles Hergesheimer, M.D. has joined Hospice of the North Coast (HNC) as Medical Director. An American Board-certified physician in Internal Medicine, Dr. Hergesheimer serves on the Medical Executive Committee at Tri-City Medical Center in Oceanside, California, where he is Chairman of the Department of Medicine. He also is a partner in a private practice, Medical Group of North County, located in Vista, California.

HNC Executive Director Nerice Kaufman states, “We feel fortunate to have a caring, well-respected physician of Dr. Hergesheimer’s caliber as our Medical Director. His commitment to providing excellence in clinical practice, palliative medicine and hospice care perfectly match the community-based programs and services our nonprofit provides throughout North County San Diego. Stuart Kipper, M.D., will continue to serve HNC as Associate Medical Director. Together, these physicians share our dedication to providing exceptional, compassionate, end-of life care.”

Dr. Hergesheimer holds a B.S. in Psychobiology from UC Riverside. He earned his M.D. at UC Irvine and conducted his internship and residency at UC San Diego. He has practiced in San Diego County since 1994. Dr. Hergesheimer reports, “I see myself as a partner with my patients and families; not only in healthcare, but in life itself.”
