Carlsbad, CA … Ray Patchett has joined the Board of Directors of Hospice of the North Coast (HNC), the premier provider of hospice services in North County. Patchett, a Carlsbad resident who served as Carlsbad City Manager from 1987-2007, now operates Patchett & Associates, a business that provides consulting services fostering community excellence, organization effectiveness, individual coaching and personal growth.
Patchett states, “Community-building has been at the heart of my career and it is also the foundation of HNC. I look forward to supporting the organization and the people it serves. HNC’s focus on dignity and quality of life at every stage is very meaningful to me.”
HNC Executive Director Nerice Kaufman believes, “Ray Patchett is a stellar addition to a Board whose members offer a diversity of expertise and a shared commitment to HNC’s mission, goals, programs and services – and most of all to our clients, their families and the community. A leader, teacher, mentor and author, Ray is widely respected for his innovative thinking and his ability to galvanize a team to implement strategic change. As we celebrate our 30th anniversary of service, we will be relying on the strengths of each of our Board members working together to broaden our reach throughout North County.”
The nonprofit Hospice of the North Coast was established in 1980 to fill the need for comprehensive, compassionate hospice care in North County San Diego. Since its inception, it has grown in services, staff and clients; it currently provides a full spectrum of programs, including bereavement support, to terminally ill clients and their families. To fulfill its mission of maintaining dignity, comfort and the highest quality of life for those it serves, regardless of ability to pay, Hospice of the North Coast hosts fundraising events, operates a family support camp and resale shop, and maintains a cadre of volunteers.
