Carlsbad, CA … Hospice of the North Coast (HNC) will hold a joyful Ribbon Cutting and Open House on March 24, 2011 from 4-6 pm at its new permanent home at 2525 Pio Pico Drive, Suite 301 in Carlsbad. The 4 pm ribbon cutting will be presented by the Carlsbad Chamber of Commerce. PRP Wine International is the wine sponsor for the event. Richard Bier of Isaac’s Catering will provide an array of hors d’oeuvres.
Community members are invited to attend what is sure to be a festive and inspiring afternoon. The event is free and open to the public. Reservations are not required. Media personnel can contact HNC Project Manager Yvette Williams at 760-431-4100 or ywilliams@hospicenorthcoast.org to make any special arrangements for specific interviews and/or photographs at the event.
HNC moved to its new three-story, 9,000-square-foot facility from its former 5,000-square-foot location at 5441 Avenida Encinas in late 2010. Executive Director Nerice Kaufman says she is eager to show off HNC’s full-featured headquarters.
Kaufman states, “Guests will have an opportunity to tour the facility and meet our Board of Directors, staff and volunteers. People can enjoy some of the many integrative therapies we offer, such as massage, music and aromatherapy. They will learn about the many ways in which we serve clients and our entire North County community as well as discover how to get involved with our programs and services. It’s going to be an exciting and enlightening afternoon!”
Kaufman says that she and her staff were delighted to celebrate 30 years of existence as a client-oriented, community-centric hospice by moving into spacious, welcoming surroundings. She notes, “Now, in our 31st
year, we are well-positioned to expand our services and value to the community.”
Nonprofit Hospice of the North Coast was established in 1980 to fill the need for comprehensive, compassionate hospice care in North County San Diego. Since its inception, it has grown in services, staff and clients; it currently provides a full spectrum of programs to terminally ill clients and their families, including bereavement support. To fulfill its mission of maintaining dignity, comfort and highest quality of life for those it serves, regardless of ability to pay, HNC hosts fundraising events, operates a family support camp and resale shop, and maintains a cadre of volunteers.
