Vice President of San Diego Hospice and Palliative Nurses Association

Mary Keenan, RN, CHPN, MSN/Ed. and Director of Patient Care Service at Hospice of the North Coast, has been elected vice president of the San Diego Hospice and Palliative Nurses Association. The mission of the association is to promote excellence in end-of-life nursing care by fostering the educational development of nurses. For more than 25 years, Keenan has provided nursing care and has specialized in hospice care for the last nine years. She has extensive experience in dealing with end-of-life issues and a great compassion and understanding of the complexities that patients and families face when their loved one has been referred for hospice care.

2005 Golden Caregiver Award

Gloria Fabian-Cruz, a certified home health aide (CHHA), at Hospice of the North Coast, was selected as the recipient of the 2005 Golden Caregiver Award. For over 14 years, Gloria has provided gentle and compassionate hands-on personal care while maintaining a patient’s comfort and dignity.
